IDEAS FOR BETTER/MORE CONNECTION
I know this might seem counterproductive to my whole be more connected directive, but taking stock of your relationships can help focus on genuine connection. Who do you talk about real things with and who do you spend time gossiping with and talking about superficial topics? Who makes you feel supported? Who inspires you?
MAKE A PLAN
Has it been too long since you've seen that friend that makes you feel inspired? Even the bible talks about the power of connection, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” So call or text that friend, or group of friends with a solid date to get together.
TRY SOMETHING FUN AND NEW TOGETHER
A class, a hike, a new shop - exploring something new with a pall can be a great way to really connect with someone. It can also be easier to try something new when you've got a wingman. Try Verlocal, and go learn a craft or new skill in your city.
Busy? Don't feel like you have time to give a friendship the care and feeding it needs? Yes, you should get back to that - definitely, but why not in the moment send a friend a text just to let them know they are awesome, or pick up their favorite snack at the store while you are there. Post a shared memory on Facebook, or even just say some nice stuff about them to someone. Viola! Don't you feel a little better?

FEEL LIKE YOU ARE STARTING FROM GROUND ZERO?
New in town or just at a different stage in life and you feel friend deficient? It's the worst! But be proactive - there are people out there just like you. Join a MEETUP group. It seems like there is one for everything these days. Take a class. Volunteer. What about a local animal shelter? Do something, anything and know results come with persistence, time and luck.

“A sage person says his thoughts with own heart feeling for he knows that this only gives it a real meaning and the connection with the people; while the foolish minds assume that it can be achieved through only words rhyming.”
